Didot Type Specimen

For this project, I created a type specimen of one of my favorite serif fonts, Didot. I wanted to have a more creative layout than just a book, so I decided to make it into a folding accordion instead. This took a lot of trial and error, at first, but I think it turned out well in the end. On one side I made the background white and the font black and on the other, I made the background black and the font white. I did this to show the differences in contrast between the two. As for the content, because the purpose of a type specimen is to display the font, I wanted to make sure the font in as many different varieties as possible. I wanted to include every letter, and number, as well as italicized and bold. I also wanted to pay homage to the history of the font, so I included a page about the creator of the font and translated it to French since France is the birthplace of the font. Additionally, I included a page dedicated to some of the famous brands that have used Didot. I really enjoyed working on this piece and problem solving the issues that arose when formatting it for print.
